I graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1987, with a
Bachelors of Science in Vocational Home Economics (Now known as Family
Consumer Science), and certified to Teach Kindergarten and Home Economics.
I taught kindergarten four years and later, all levels of homebound
students, teaching all subjects for seventeen years. While teaching
homebound I had some great experiences with my students and decided to
certify to teach Special Ed. In 2007 I certified to teach Science in the
High School, and started teaching Applied Biology in Spring of 2008. I
really love the challenge and possibilities of Science.
The teachers here at Stony Point are not only supportive of students, but
also of one another. I am looking forward to this year.
I have been married 23 years, and have four great children including a ten
year old son, a fourteen year old daughter, a sixteen year old son, and an
nineteen year old son who is in college this year at TSTC in Waco.
I have two dogs and like all kinds of animals. Other interests that I have
include (but are not limited to) singing (especially in my church choir),
gardening, reading, camping, kayaking, bird watching and fishing.
For students get into Science, have fun, to develope an interest in and
understand issues in science, and be able to make good choices regarding
those issues, especially those related to their own lives.
