Greetings SPHS and SP9 Parents, and Welcome to a new school year!
Let me introduce myself, my name is Tekita Coffey and I am your Parent
Support Specialist. This year, I have been given the wonderful opportunity
to assist Parents at both campuses, SPHS and SP9. I have worked with RRISD
on the Safe Schools Healthy Students Grant since 2005.
The Parent Resource and Opportunity Centers offers parents a welcoming
environment where they can get information on various resources, participate
in volunteer opportunities, and participate in parent activities. My role as
PSS is to help parents overcome barriers to parental involvement by linking
them with community and in-district resources, services and information. I
will organize and facilitate educational and informational workshops.
Together PTSA, SEPAC and other campus parent organizations and staff members
will help organize various parent volunteer opportunities.
We invite you to be a part of the PRO Center, by getting involved in several
ways. It is ready and available for you, with computer access,
children’s play area and college resources. SPHS doors are always open and
the key is available in the front office of SP9, if the doors are locked.
Please take the time to complete the Volunteer Interest Survey form that is
enclosed in your first day packet. This form will provide me the necessary
information to communicate with you throughout the year.

Un saludo a los padres de SPHS y a los de SP9.
Bienvenidos en este Nuevo año escolar.
Mi nombre es Tekita Coffey y soy la encargada del centro de ayuda para
padres de esta escuela. Este año me han brindado la oportunidad de ayudar a
los Padres de familia de ambos campos SPHS y SP9. He trabajado con RRISD
desde el año 2005. Este centro ofrece un ambiente acogedor para los padres
de familia donde pueden encontrar información diversa así como oportunidades
para ser voluntario y participar en diversas actividades escolares. Mi
trabajo es ayudar a los padres de familia a que se involucren en nuestra
comunidad y en los recursos que brinda el Distrito Escolar, así como la
información y los servicios que presta este Distrito.
Me he comprometido a organizar y ofrecer cursos informativos y educativos
aquí en el campus y trabajar de cerca con PTSA, SEPAC y otras organizaciones
de padres y miembros para brindar oportunidades de ser voluntario en las
diferentes actividades de la escuela.
Los invitamos a ser parte del Centro PRO participando en las diversas
actividades que tenemos. Es muy accesible para ustedes utilizando el acceso
por computadora y los recursos del colegio. Las puertas de SPHS están
siempre abiertas, la llave se encuentra en la oficina del SP9 si por caso
se encuentran cerradas.
Por favor tómese un poco de su tiempo y complete la encuesta de Interés de
voluntarios que esta en su paquete de inscripción. Esta información nos
provee información necesaria para comunicarnos con usted durante el año
escolar.
Gracias a todos los Padres de Stony Point por todo lo que hacen por sus
