This is my third year teaching Algebra I at Stony Point 9th Grade Center.
I have a B.A Math from the University of Texas at Austin. I spent roughly 8
years in private industry working in sales and marketing and as an
entrepeneur before answering the call to be a teacher. I have been
surrounded by educators my entire life and always knew that it was my
destiny. I am married with a beautiful 3 year-old daughter and a son on the
way.
We will have three goals for everyone in our class this year:
1. EARN CREDIT FOR ALGEBRA 1
High school is different than middle school and elementary school. In high
school you need to earn credits to graduate. You need 4 credits of high
school mathematics. Our goal is to have everyone in our class earn credit
and we will help each other to accomplish this.
2. MEET THE STANDARD FOR THE 9TH GRADE MATH TAKS If we work hard on Goal #1,
meeting the standard for the 9th grade Math TAKS test will be easy. We will
work together in class and in tutorials to accomplish this goal.
3. HAVE FUN.
I think that this is the most important goal for the year. It should be our
goal to have fun while we learn. Please let me know whenever you are not
having fun learning Algebra 1 and we can work together to change that.
