Student Behavior Expectations and Responsibilities
Acceptable Use Standards/Consequences for Inappropriate Use
Systems Conduct specifically pertaining to students enrolled in classes using Computers.
System users may not use another person's ID or password.
System users shall maintain electronic information in accordance with established guidelines.
System users may not upload or download programs to or from the District's system without appropriate authorization.
System users may not knowingly bring unauthorized materials into the District's ECS.
If a user identifies or has knowledge of a security problem on the network, the user must notify a system administrator.
The security problem should not be shown or demonstrated to other users.
No user is allowed to view websites such as MySpace or similar social networking websites.
If any website has been blocked by the district and the student circumvents these blocks, this action will result in suspension from school and the student will not be allowed network access at school after returning from suspension.
Vandalism Prohibited
Any attempt to harm or destroy District equipment or materials, data of another user of the District's system or any of the agencies or other networks that are connected to the Internet is prohibited. Deliberate attempts to compromise, degrade, alter programs or settings, or disrupt system performance may be viewed as violations of District policies and administrative regulations, and, possibly, as criminal activity under applicable state and federal laws. This includes, but is not limited to, the unloading or creating of computer viruses.
Vandalism as defined above will result in the cancellation of system use privileges and will require restitution for costs associated with system restoration, hardware, or software costs.
Levels/Categories of Vandalism:

Classroom Consequences
Level 1
Bypass security.
Saturday D-Hall
Denial of Access to Computers for a specified period of time.
Level 2
Minor modifications (ex: disable security, minor physical damage, change password, etc.)
Second offense of Level 1
Denial of access to all computers and/or Saturday D-Hall for a specified period of time.
Denial of Access to Network for a specified period of time.
Level 3
Major modifications (ex: major physical damage, reconfiguration required, etc.)
Repeat offenses of Level I and Level 2.
Suspension, Expulsion, Non-passing grade, and/or legal action.
Assignments restricted to pencil/paper activities only.
INTERNET TERMS AGREEMENT
I understand that I am responsible for my own Internet use.
I will not use the Internet unless a teacher is inside the room.
E-mail will be allowed in the classroom for classwork purposes only.
I will not upload or download programs or information without the teacher's permission.
I will always follow proper netiquette.
I will always use appropriate language.
I will not reveal my address or phone number on the Internet.
If at anytime during my research I might be in a web site that is not school acceptable, I will quickly exit.
I will never send chain letters through the Internet
I will cite all quotes, references and sources received from the Internet.
I will not print any information from the Internet unless I have the teacher's permission.
I also understand that if I violate this agreement during class assignments that I will receive a zero on any assignments and will lose the right to use the Internet during my computer class.
I, as student in this computer class, agree to follow all the above rules.
