What is IGCC?

IGCC stands for Introduction to Graphic Communication Careers. The majority 
of the coursework in this class involves learning technical drawing concepts 
and how to apply them using AutoCAD. Workplace success and other forms of 
graphic communication are covered as well.

What is Tech Prep?

Tech Prep is the consortium that aligns college and high school classes 
through articulation agreements. Instructors from Austin Communitiy College 
and Stony Point High School meet regularly to ensure that equivalent content 
is being taught in the high school course so that students can receive 
college credit-in-escrow for the ACC course.

How does Tech Prep articulation affect IGCC?

IGCC is intended to be an academically rigorous course. Tech Prep provides 
college credit opportunity, as well as Advanced Measures toward the RRISD 
graduation plans. Freshman students should assess their study skills before 
enrolling in IGCC.

What classes should I take after IGCC?

Currently there are two main strands available to Engineering Design 
Graphics students: Mechanical Drawing and Architectural Drawing. Students 
may enroll in one or both strands. IGCC is also a prerequisite for Computer 
Animation Design.

Does IGCC meet the Technology Applications graduation requirement?

There are specific requirements for courses which meet the Technology 
Applications graduation requirement. IGCC does NOT currently fulfill this 
requirement.
