Course Outline
1st 6 Weeks = Mapping Skills Unit, Physical Geography Unit, Begin Human 
Geography Unit

2nd 6 Weeks = Complete Human Geography Unit, North America Unit, Begin Latin 
America Unit

3rd 6 Weeks= Complete Latin America Unit, Europe Unit

4th 6 Weeks = Russia and Eurasia Unit, Southwest Asia Unit

5th 6 Weeks = Africa Unit, South Asia Unit

6th 6 Weeks = East and Southeast Asia Unit, Oceania Unit

Average Assignments per unit: (teacher may need to change the number of 
assignments, depending on the needs of the students)

*Each Unit will have on average 2 major assessments (tests, projects, essays, 
etc). Major assessments are worth 50% of the student's grade average.

*Each Unit will have about 4 (or more) quizzes (vocabulary, progress checks, 
quiz over notes, etc). Quizzes are worth 30% of the student's grade average.

*Each Unit will have several daily assignments. Daily assignments are worth 
20% of the student's grade average.
