When you walk into class, there will be 2-4 art related definitions written on the chalkboard. These are to be written down in your art spiral/folder as soon as you get to your table. Next, you should then begin working on your project. If you finish a project early, then you are to work on your portfolio.Back to Top
What are some things a student can expect in your class?
Projects: As mentioned before, all projects will be based on the different elements and principles of art .The elements and principles are the building blocks of how art is created. You will be gaining a deeper understanding of them through definition and through creating your own art. Most projects will take between 2-3 weeks, depending on what type of project we are working on. Clay is the exception, because it may take longer since it is a multi-stage project.Back to Top
Grading: Projects : All projects will be graded based on how well you followed instructions, your creativity, craftsmanship , and effort. I DO NOT expect you to be a perfect artist, but I DO expect you to try your best to create something you can be proud of. This class is NOT an automatic A !!! If you want to receive an A, you will have to earn it !!! Rushing through a project is unacceptable, and will cause you to start over. Participation : There is also a participation grade in this class. In order to receive full credit you must actively work everyday. Your participation grade will count for a large portion of your overall grade, so I highly suggest you not becoming lazy in here. Tests : There will be 2 tests this year. One at the end of the semester, and one final at years end. You will be tested on all of the art terms that you will be writing down in your art notebook each day and knowledge that you have gained by creating art this year.Back to Top
