I usually give students time in class to complete assignments. They do need
to be reading a book of their choice and keeping a log for reading workshop.
If they do not read a book, complete a log and a book project, they may fail
the class. I have repeatedly warned the students of this possibility. Some
of the reading, possibly 20 minutes a night, needs to be done at home.
