Welcome to Stony Point Ninth Grade Center and a new school year! My
colleagues encouraged me to take this opportunity to introduce myself to
parents, so here goes:
While I was born in Abilene and lived in Kermit and Perryton, I grew up in
the Oklahoma Panhandle, (Guymon, OK, to be exact) and consider myself a bona
fide resident of both states. No matter who wins the UT/OU game, I claim
the win. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in
Weatherford, Oklahoma, several (more than 20) years ago. My husband joined
the United States Air Force and we lived in several states, but never west
of the Rockies or east of the Mississippi. I followed him to RAF Lakenheath
in England where we lived in a village in Suffolk and, later, base housing.
I have worked in a variety of settings; as a special education
teacher and pre-kindergarten teacher in England, a resource teacher in an
AEP and a middle school, and as an English teacher in a residential
treatment center. I have worked for the district for six years.
I enjoy teaching tremendously and am drawn back to it any time I attempt to
escape and try different career fields. I love the creativity involved in
teaching.
I look forward to this school year and hope to meet and greet you soon!
