Why study literature?
We read and write poems and stories because they
allow us to process our experiences into that which is tangible and
communicable. Our shared goal is to synthesize and harmonize the human
experience into a common thread...the singularity that makes us human, unique,
blessed, and whole.
Indulgence in literature is not only for
self-discovery, but also in preparation for AP examinations. This dual purpose
is not mutually exlusive, but may enrich the student's understanding of the
writer's craft.
