Welcome to Miss Meg, our new music teacher! Miss Rachael is doing her
student teaching this semester and will have a full-time teaching job in the
fall. We are so glad to have Miss Meg with us. She brings a lot of musical
experience including her own guitar and flute to class!

Congratulations to Jackson --- his artwork was selected by the Texas
Art Education Association and displayed this past fall (Sept. 28-29) at the
Texas Association of School Board and School Administrator Conference at the
Dallas Convention Center!!! There will be art from grades PreK-12
representing 50 school districts.

MAKE NOTE:
We participate in the 'BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION' program --- please save these
and ask your family members and friends to save them, too! There is a jar
on the 'notebook' table for you to drop them into. We turn them in for CASH
for our school. This is an on-going program, so please save them throughout
the year.

Another way we receive 'free' cash for our school is with our grocery card
program. At 'Central Market' every time you make a purchase and show them
one of our grocery cards, they give 5% of your total purchase back to our
school. If you have family or friends who would use a card to help us,
please let us know and we will give you as many as you need.

NAEYC Accreditation!!!
KinderFrogs has earned accreditation from the National Association for the
Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation's leading organization of
early childhood professionals. The five-year accreditation is the strongest
accrediting system available to early childhood programs. KinderFrogs is the
only university-affiliated program in the Fort Worth area that has earned
the accreditation and only 25 percent of the childcare/educational centers
in America have this national accreditation. “We're proud to be accredited
by NAEYC, and recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest
professional standards,” said Marilyn Tolbert, director and Jean W. Roach
Chair of Laboratory Schools at TCU. “NAEYC Accreditation lets families in
our community know that children in our program are getting the best care
and early learning experiences.”
Due to the lengthy accreditation process, KinderFrogs faculty and staff
worked on the accreditation for two years. The process involved submitting
program information to determine eligibility as an applicant for NAEYC
accreditation. The information included licensing status, program staff and
leadership understanding the NAEYC process and a high volume of paperwork.
Once the application was accepted, KinderFrogs began a self-study of their
program to ensure that it met each of the 10 NAEYC Early Childhood
Standards. This included self-evaluation of all procedures, classrooms,
relationships with families, staff, health and safety, curriculum, and
facilities.
More than 11,000 early childhood programs, serving over one million young
children, are currently accredited by NAEYC. “In recent years, we've seen a
growing number of child care and preschool programs earning NAEYC
Accreditation,” said Mark Ginsberg, Ph.D., executive director of NAEYC. “By
earning accreditation, KinderFrogs School at TCU has become a leader in a
national effort to raise the quality of early childhood education, and to
help give all children a better start.”
