Who can check out books from the library?

Every Tadlock student, parent, and staff member can check out books.

How many books can I check out?

Kindergarten students may check out 1 book. First and second grade students 
may check out 2 books. Third through fifth grade students may have three 
books.

How long can I keep my books?

Kindergarten students may keep their book for one week.
First through fifth grade students may keep their books for two weeks.

Does the library have magazines?

Yes! You may check out one magazine at a time and keep it for one night. 
However, you may not draw, do the puzzles, or tear anything out of the 
magazines.

Can I be the next person to check out a book that is out?

Yes, this is called "placing a hold" on a book. You can do this by asking 
one of the library staff to do this for you.

What day does my class go to the library?

Kindergarten and first grade classes have a scheduled library time every 
week. Second through fifth grade classes have a scheduled library time every 
other week. Also students are welcome to come change out a book at anytime.

Is the library open before or after school?

The library is open before school. However, at this time, it is not open 
after school due to a need to get students to their rides after school.

What library reading programs are available for students ?

Students in grades K-2 may participate in the 2 x 2 program by reading 20 
books from the Texas 2 x 2 list and coloring in a boot that they have 
received. All students may participate in the STAR Reading Log program by 
reading for 25 days. Students in grades 3-5 may participate in the 
Bluebonnet reading program.

What incentives do students have to participate in these programs?

2 x 2 Program--recognition at Celebrate Tadlock and a free paperback book. 
Ends Dec. 10th.
STAR Reading Logs--receive a prize from the treasure chest as each log is 
turned in. Party at the end of the year for students participating each 
month.
Bluebonnet Program--for those reading and testing over 10 books--a medal; 
for those reading and testing over 15 books--a trophy. These students will 
be members of the Tadlock Bluebonnet Club and will be honored with a 
breakfast in February and at Celebrate Tadlock.
