Who can participate in choir?

Any fourth or fifth grade student who likes to sing and is committed to
attending the rehearsals.

How can I get private lessons for my student?

The district has an approved teacher list for band and orchestra private
teachers. If you are interested in piano lessons please contact Mrs. Caffey
by email.

When should my student start piano lessons?

Usually first or second grade or when they are interested enough to
practice.
This is not a hard and fast rule but if they have the letter reading skills
then the note reading comes more easily to them. Also, starting students
before their fine motor skills have developed can cause them frustration.

What is the Kodaly Method of teaching music?

The Kodaly method of teaching uses a spiraling curriculum of skills for it's
literacy program. It teaches skills aurally, orally,physically and
visually. Most of the music used is authentic American folk songs. Students
learn to read,write,and play music while developing a beautiful singing
voice.
