Loving this cold weather. . hope it stays around!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas Break!! It's time
once again to hit the ground running!!
The 2nd Annual UHE Science Fair was a huge success. Thank
you to all the students and teachers (don't forget parents!)
for their hard work on the projects. We know it was a great
learning experience.
We have just wrapped up a unit on weathering, erosion and deposition.
The students had the opportunity to take a virtual tour of some mountains and
glaciers on our promethean board to experience weathering and erosion and
it's affects on different landforms. Also, we have studied rock formation,
fossils, tree rings, etc., and investigating the past.
Our second semester has kicked off with natural resources and will move into
our energy unit (light, heat and sound). After that we will study the earth
and moon system and then ecosystems and adaptations. Once that is complete,
it is review time!!
We could really use some quart sized Ziploc bags for our vocabulary
activities if you have some to spare, thanks!!
On another note, please continue to check your student's Thursday folder each
week for upcoming events as well as to view their daily behavior folder.
Homework books should be coming home nightly, too, just as a communication
for us.
Also, our 5th Grade Flier, the monthly newsletter, will contain important
events and dates. The Union Hill website is updated frequently and serves as
a great source for announcements. Please note, important notes may be
sent home at any time in the Homework Folder.
Go Wolves!!!
