WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

I just wanted to take a few minutes to welcome all of our returning students back to school and to welcome our new students. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns regarding a health situation with your child at any time during this school year. My direct phone line is 428-3408.

To assist you, here are some pointers on issues regarding the health of our students:

If your child has fever, has been vomiting or has diarrhea they need to be out of school for a full 24 hours after symptoms resolve. Fever must be back to normal without the use of medications (Tylenol or ibuprofen) for a full 24 hours. Please observe these rules for the health of all students.
H1N1 (Swine Flu) is predicted to return this year. There will be close monitoring at school. It is important to report symptoms of flu and any confirmed cases to me as soon as possible to avoid spread of this disease.
Medication regulations can be otained under the "Medication Guidelines" tab, medication administration requests can be obtained under the "Forms" tab above.

SHOTS

It is important to us that all children meet the requirements for vaccinations from the Department of Health Services. A list of requirements can be found under the "immuniations" tab above. To assist you with meeting the requirements, RRISD is providing immunization clinics free of charge to all RRISD students and their siblings up to age 18.

Next available shot clinic Friday, August 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the RRISD athletic complex.
