2009 begins my 12th year of teaching and my 7th here in Friendswood. I
graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998, with a
specialization in early childhood and reading. Over the years I have had
the opportunity to be a part of Alvin ISD where I also taught 1st grade, and
Nacogdoches ISD where I taught 3rd and then 2nd grade. Needless to say I
have had a taste of several grade levels and know that first grade is where
I am supposed to be.
Three years ago I made Friendswood my home and have loved becoming apart
the community. I am currently in the midst of planning my January 2010 wedding
to Brian Janish.
With experience in the next two grade levels, I feel like I have a real
grasp of the expectations that will face my students in the years to come.
With this in mind I strive daily to provide a challenging curriculum that
meets the needs of each individual child.
I also strongly believe that you are only in first grade once! I try to
provide many "special moments" throughout the year that won't easily be
forgotten. I want my children to leave with fun and happy memories that will
last a lifetime!
