This year I am working part-time. I work every Wednesday, Friday, and every other
Thursday.
Education:
I earned my Specialist in School psychology (SSP) from Illinois State University. I also
have a Master of Science (MS) in counseling from the University of
Memphis and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Delta State University where I majored in
psychology and minored in special education.
Experience:
This is my third year working as the LSSP at Westwood Elementary in Friendswood
ISD. I have twelve years of experience focusing on the social and emotional needs of
children and their families. Previously, I worked as a counselor in community mental
health and non-profit agencies. I have provided school psychological services in
Illinois and two other districts in Texas. My previous experience have utilized the
following skills:
* Completed evaluations to determine special education eligibility
* Provided group, individual or family therapy for students with social/emotional needs
* Consulted with teacher on behavioral management strategies
* Facilitated initial, annual, manifestation determination and review ARD meetings
* Completed behavioral assessments & developed intervention plans
* Provided crisis intervention services to students and consulted with parents
* Taught class-wide and small group anger management and social skills
* Participated in a prevention program that focused on emotional intelligence
* Counseled students with ADHD, depression, anxiety, behavioral & trauma concerns.
* Provided in-service training on behavior management & home-school collaboration
* Facilitated parent education classes

Personal Information:
I am originally from Memphis, TN. I moved to the Houston area five years ago when I
married my husband. In March 2007, we welcomed a new addition to our family, a
