Dear Westwood Family:
We have had such a wonderful year! It is sad to say good bye, especially to our third grade families, whom we have grown to know and
love over our four years together. We want to wish you all a very safe and pleasant summer holiday. It is good to slow down and relax. But be
sure some of that relaxation time is spent READING every day! Besides being a fun activity on a hot afternoon, it keeps our skill level sharp for
next year.
The Colt Corner for May (which you can read online) talks about submitting letters if you are thinking about next year's teachers. Please read
my guidelines and be sure your letter is in the office by May 31. All of our teachers are exellent. But we understand that different personalities
suit different students and we want to make a great match. No specific teacher requests will be honored.
Early dismissal on Friday, May 30, will be at 12:45. It gets very hectic when parents are checking students out early. If you can wait till 12:45
for summer to begin, we will be grateful.
Finally, I will be holding on to your email addresses in the "Words from Westwood" file until the beginning of the school year in August. In
that way I will be able to remind you of our "opening day" activities. You will also be able to check our website which will keep you up to date
and informed about the 2008/2009 school year. In the meantime, Happy Summer!!! We love you all!
