Specials Schedule this week:

November 30- December 4, 2009
We will have P.E. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

Peek at the Week:

Reading: This week we will focus on making predictions while we are reading. Our predictions don't
have to be right, but they should make sense.

Writing: This week we will continue to discuss the importance of word choice. We will also learn how
to write a prove-it to add depth to our writing! It is good to tell our reader something, but it is even
better if we can prove it! For example... We can tell our reader that it is cold outside. But if we show
them by using our senses, our writing comes alive. Ex. It is cold outside. My teeth are chattering so
loud, they can hear me next door. There are goosebumps all over my arms and legs. I am really
cold!

Spelling: Our spelling pattern this week is words with the long u sound spelled as "ue" and "ew."

Math: We will begin adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers. And, yes, we will be regrouping!!! If
your child can't recall his/her facts quickly and accurately, please invest some time and money into
flash card practice!

Science: We will be learning about habitats for the next few weeks!
