Specials Schedule this week:

December 14-18, 2009
We will have P.E. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

Peek at the Week:

Reading: We will be reading Christmas stories as we talk about characterization, story elements, 
making connections and predictions as well as visualizing.

Writing: The students will finish their own version of the story Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Spelling: No spelling this week!  We will play with high frequency words and Christmas words in class. 


Math: We will review for our Math Benchmark, our benchmark on Tuesday, and then do some mental 
math with 2 digit numbers such as making a ten and finding compatible numbers to add.

Science:  Students are finishing their habitat research and will share with the class.  Then we will use 
our Science time to have some holiday fun!

Important Information: 
**Tuesday:  We will take a math benchmark covering everything we have learned this year!
**Tuesday:  Mrs. Moffitt's class will spend the afternoon with us making reindeer and watching 
Rudolph.
**Wednesday: Students will spend the afternoon with Mrs. Moffitt's class making beaded ornaments 
and having more Christmas fun.
**Thursday: Our Party is from 1:30-2:30.  We will make gingerbread houses in the morning!
**Friday:  Night Before Christmas Celebration:  Students wear your pajamas!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Enjoy the break!  I hope you get to 
enjoy one of the BEST things about Christmas:  spending lots of quality time relaxing with family and 
loved ones.  I will be enjoying my family, but also missing the students as well.  They, too, are like 
my family and I hope all their Christmas dreams come true!
