Homework

You should NOT be seeing a lot of homework coming home in your
child's homework folder at night. After a long day at school I want your
child to relax and enjoy their childhood!

I always have parents asking what they can do to help their child be
successful in third grade. There are a few things would love to have my
students doing each night.

* Study math facts for 10 - 15 minutes each night. Start with the addition
facts to 18 then progress to subtraction, mulitiplication (through 12's),
and division facts.

* Read grade level books for 15 - 20 minutes each night.

In addition this your child should have the following homework each night
taking no more than 15 - 20 minutes to complete:

Monday - Study for spelling test on Tuesday
Tuesday - Math practice page
Wednesday - Spelling list goes home ~ a spelling activity will be assigned
Thursday - Practice Facts test corrected and signed
Friday - Have a GREAT weekend!! =)

Thank you for helping your child have a successful year. =)
