About The Teacher

Welcome to Third Grade. =) 2009 begins my twelveth year to teach third
grade here at Westwood - I am very excited to be your child's teacher this
year. I graduated from UHCL with my BS in Accounting and worked for Texaco
Oil as an oil and gas accountant for about 2 years before I decided to be a
stay a home mom. It was one of the most rewarding times of my life. I still
treasure those memories =). When my youngest began first grade I started
substituting here in Friendswood. At the encouragement of a former Westwood
principal I went back to college and received my teaching certificate and the
rest is history. I absolutely love teaching!!

I am blessed to be married to the most loving, patient and understanding
man for 29 years and we are blessed with two wonderful and precious children,
Bryan and Krystle. They are two of the most incredible human beings I know.
Bryan graduated from UH with a degree in Finance and works for Shorthorn
Resources as a Landman. Krystle graduated from UH and is teaching first
grade at CJ Harris Elementary School in Pearland ISD. Oh yes, I cannot
forget to mention that we have a beautiful yellow lab, Macy, who is a bundle
of energy =) and her personal playmates, a grey and white cat, Rocky and our
new adorable chocolate lab puppy, Allie!

In my spare time (what is that?) I like to spend time with my family, read,
exercise, travel and enjoy the company of good friends!

It is going to be a fabulous year and I am looking forward to getting to know
all of you better as the year goes on.

Mission For The Class

I believe that all children possess unique gifts and talents. It is my goal
to help my students discover those talents by providing a classroom
where children are happy, safe, loved and feel good about themselves.
Parents, teacher and students working together will insure the student's
success in third grade and beyond!
