About The Teacher

The start of the school year is an exciting time full of new experiences and endless possibilities.
Often though, it is also an uncertain time. Parents and students alike wondering what the year will
hold. Rest assured, your child is in good hands! I will spend a great deal of time in the next few
weeks getting to know your child and communicating with you to initiate our learning partnership.
To begin this process, I would like to take the time to introduce myself as your child's teacher.

After earning my undergraduate degree in Applied Learning and Development, from the University
of Texas at Austin, I was set on a journey of teaching and learning in both Galveston and San
Antonio. I had many first grade teaching experiences and was able to teach general education
students, gifted students, and students with disabilities. I finally made my way to Friendswood,
applied for a teaching position within the school district and was fortunate enough to be placed
in an educational setting with outstanding children. This is my fourth year of teaching, learning,
and growing alongside members of the Westwood community.

As your child's teacher, I will facilitate our time together in a nurturing way, providing your child
with the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment where risk taking is a natural
occurrence. I strongly believe in individualized instruction and set high expectations for all
children in my classroom community.

Believing that education is most successful when a partnership is formed between the teacher,
parent, and child, I hope you will join us as we embark upon our educational journey. I would
like you to know that your partnership in your child's education is not only welcome but also
encouraged. I will be looking for classroom volunteers on a frequent basis and would love
to include each and every one of you in our classroom.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. I am always ready
and willing to offer my assistance. Let's keep the lines of communication open. Our
partnership will only strengthen your child's academic achievement.
