I have taught for thirty fun and exciting years at Westwood,
pre-k through fifth grade. I have had the privilege to work with
thousands of wonderful children. My most memorable moment was when I asked a
class of kindergarten students "What is the purpose of our heart, why do we have a
heart?" One little boy raised his hand and answered "So we can love our
mothers." He captured my heart right then and there. I get the most
enjoyment out of life's simple pleasures such as a walk on the beach, a hike
in the woods, observing nature and seeing a child smile when he/she succeeds.
To encourage students to establish a healthy lifestyle throughout their life
and to instill good values, help them become more responsible and guide them
academically, physically, socially and emotionally, enhancing their self
image.
