Focus: Through creative performance, students apply the expressive technical skills of music and critical-thinking skills to evaluate multiple forms of problem solving.

Broad-based Concept: The study of band wind literature and the techniques of composers with specific emphasis on performance opportunities               

Generalizations: Students will perform with higher-level thinking skills and concepts.

·         Can the students demonstrate independently accurate intonation and rhythm , fundamental skills, and basic performance techniques on solos and/or small ensembles while performing moderately easy, moderately difficult to difficult literature (UIL grades 3,2 and 1).

·         Can students exhibit accurate intonation and rhythm, fundamental skills, and basic performance techniques?

·         Can the students design and apply criteria for making informed judgements regarding the quality and effectiveness of a musical performances?
