About The Teacher

My two sisters and I grew up and attended school in Crowley, Texas,
where my parents, Ralph and Alta Marie Milner still live. I entered Tarrant
County Jr. College, South Campus in its second year of existence. After two
years, I attended University of North Texas earning a degree in Elementary
Education. My first job was teaching first grade in the very same classroom
where I had attended first grade at Crowley. When I was a first grader, the
district only had one first grade. However, when I began teaching, Crowley
had three elementary schools with four and five first grade classrooms. You
can imagine my surprise when I saw my first classroom as a teacher!
I have been married to my husband John for 35 years. We have lived in
Arlington for 30 of those years. We have a 34 year old daughter, Joanna and
a son, Scott who is 31. Joanna, who married in October 2003, has chosen
dance as her career, and Scott graduated from the University of Texas at
Arlington and works in Sports for the Star Telegram. My calico cat, Patches
keeps me busy when I'm not teaching.
I completed my twentieth year with Mansfield in May. Nine years were
at Boren and the past eleven have been here at Willie Brown. I've made so
many friends including administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and
especially STUDENTS!! My hope is to continue my career at Mansfield for many
years to come. What a wonderful place to enjoy my greatest hobby -- TEACHING!

At our Mansfield ISD General Convocation on
August 9, 2001 all teachers were given a copy of a "Teacher Guarantee." The
copyright is CommuniCare, Connie Podesta, 1993. I would like to share this
with my students, past, present and future.
