Hello everyone,
Can you believe the Christmas break is almost here! This first semester has flown by - I can hardly believe we are almost half way through the year!
I just wanted to invite you to our plays next week. We will perform two Greek plays Wednesday during your child’s LA time. As always, you are welcome in my room anytime! We would love for you to see all of our budding actors and actresses ham it up live! The performances will be as follows:
Ganske’s class - 8:45
Bell’s class - 10:30
Bockart’s class - 1:00
As far as costumes go, just a sheet and some safety pins will do for most! We are dressing Greek style - toga, toga, toga! I have told the kids they can embellish as they see fit according to their character and make some kind of head piece fitting for their character - a crown, some greenery, some antennas, etc.
Also, our “love line” is still a big hit and we could use some more note cards if you care to donate any:-)
I have posted the 1st reading benchmark results online. It is not part of their average, it was entered, but it won’t affect their grade - it is just so you can see where they are skill wise. Most of the kids did really well - I am very proud of their progress. Unfortunately, I can’t send the test home, but you are welcome to come in for a conference to look it over if you’d like.
This week the kids have a Unit 6 test tomorrow. No vocabulary next week.
If your child wants to take part in the Greek food festival next week on Tuesday - money for the meal ($7) is due this Friday - that is completely optional:-)
In case I don’t have an opportunity to see you before the break, let me tell you what an honor it is to have your child in my class this year. I truly LOVE my kids this year. Each and every one of them have taught me something about life already this year. They are such a blessing to me! Thanks for sharing them with me this year!
