Happy Monday! My how the time flies when you are having fun - and that is definitely the case here - I am having a ball with your kids! They are all starting to settle in and I grow to love them more each day. Each day is an adventure! I wanted to let you know about a couple of up coming events. First, we will culminate our mystery unit on Thursday with a Mystery Theater in our classroom. This kids received their parts last week and all they really need to do to prepare is become their character. I have many of the
costume pieces for them, but I have told them they can embellish them as much or as little as they like. My kids always enjoy this hands-on experience and seem to really “get” how a story is put together after actually being a part of the story.
Next, we will sail the seas to Greece and embark on a mythology unit! We have a guest speaker coming in on Friday to introduce them to this study. He even brings real armor that a Greek citizen soldier would have worn. This is always something my kids enjoy. I have sent home a letter with information on the book we will be using for this study. It is The Greek Gods and the cost is $6. This fun unit will carry us through until the Christmas break - hard to believe that is just around the corner!
Also, we will move our vocabulary "mono/poly" test to Wednesday this week since we will be doing the Mystery Theater on Thursday. Please call me or email me if you have any questions. The kids are really doing a great job!
