Dear parents,

I hope you are having a great day. Hope you are all starting to get back into some sort of normal routine after the storm. I have to say, your
kids have made a very smooth transition. They haven't missed a beat! It was great to see them all return safe and sound. I just wanted to make
you aware of a few dates so you can mark your calendars. First, IR will be introduced for the first time tomorrow, and will be due next Tuesday.
I will be sending a note home with the students after we visit the library tomorrow, so be aware that that will become a weekly requirement.
The letter coming home will have all the details. Also, the kids will take the unit 1 vocabulary test this Thursday. I sent home a "mock" test, so
you could look at the format. It is really different from what they may have seen in the past. It is hard for the kids in the beginning, but I really
find that it is very helpful to them in the end. Open House is this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. I hope to see you there. I would love to meet the
parents of the outstanding young men and women I have had the privilege of working with the past few weeks! Also, many of you so graciously
offered to help us with the Zeps. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The times for October 7th Zep helpers will be as follows:

Bell’s class 8:10

Ganske’s class 10:00

Bockart’s class 12:10

If you can help on October 7th, we’d love to have you. Just come at the designated time, sign in up front, and come on back to Pod D. Just show
up and I will put you to work:-)

I can’t tell you what an honor it is to teach your children. We are off to a great start! You really do have awesome kids. Thanks for sharing them
with me this year. Carpe Diem!
