Grading Policies for 5^th Grade

*Late assignments:

10 points per day up to 3 days

Students will receive a zero by the 4^th day

Students may be asked to finish the assignment during recess or extension.

*Grade requirements:

Social Studies – Test grades count twice. Grades are not weighted.

Reading – Test grades count twice. Grades are not weighted.

Language – Test grades and projects count twice. Language/Writing = 70%. Spelling = 30%

Science – Test grades count twice. Grades are not weighted.

Math – Test grades are 60%. Daily work is 40%.

Technology – Grades are not weighted.

**Students are not allowed to correct their test grade for a 70 if they fail a test.

*Absent work:

Students are responsible for obtaining make-up work from each teacher. Parents may request missed assignments in advance of student’s return if the student has been absent more than one day. Students will be given an extra day to finish their work for every missed day.
