Party Parking
: Tomorrow's parties create quite a parking problem at Windsong! If you come early to get a good spot, Mrs. Lane (assistant principal) says to come check in at the office, then wait in the cafeteria until 9:15. That way, you'll have a primo space, but won't disrupt classes by waiting in the pod. Thanks for all you do for us, including the fun parties!!
Gradebook
: There is now a message on the ParentConnection login screen that states "ParentConnection access will be disabled beginning Thursday, December 17 through winter break while student grades and schedules are being finalized." I want to remind you that our nine weeks doesn't end until later.
Movie Permission notes are coming home today (Wed., Dec 16). Please sign and return by Friday.
Progress Reports
On Tuesday (Dec 15) the Progress Reports will come home for the 2nd nine weeks. Our campus is on a different schedule than Jr. High and High School this year. While their semester ends next week, ours continues through to the middle of January.
Party! Party!
Since we have a short day next Friday (car riders released at 1:10, bus riders at 1:15), our party will be a morning-time affair. It starts at 9:30 and lasts until 10:15. Mrs. Scannapieco sent home party info last Tuesday in the folders.
Vocabulary Packet and Quiz
Each week on Monday, students receive a new vocabulary packet and work on one page per day, Mon-Wed. On Thursday, packets come home to be studied and corrections made if needed. Then on Friday, there's a quiz. I take the quiz mostly from the pages of the packet, so if a student has studied, the grades are good. So far, the grades on these packets and quizzes have been excellent!
News and Pictures
Anytime your child is involved in events, I'd love to have a picture! You may email it to me or send in a hard copy. The pics are posted on our cabinet doors under an "In the News" caption.
If sent by email, I'd like to know if I may post it on this website. I will use first names only on our site, or at your request, no name at all. Let me know in your email if this is acceptable.
Spelling
Students receive the Spelling list each Friday for the following week. It is also posted on this site under "Important Papers." The Spelling Test is each Thursday and is worth two grades: one for the word section and one for the sentence section.
Parent Conne
ction
Remember to sign up for Parent
Connection
, which is my gradebook online. You'll be able to see your child's grades in every subject. When prompted for your child's ID number, your child should know it; remind them it is their lunch number and password at school. It is a 6-digit number that will be the same all the way through high school if you remain in Friendswood ISD. (If you need the ID number and your child's not home, please email me and I'll send it your way.)
Remember that most teachers will input grades about once a week, so don't panic if you don't see something right away. This is new for all of us!
NewsFlash
Each teacher that has your child in a class probably has a NewsFlash on the webpage, so if you want information about Science Lab or PE, Music or Art, sign up on that teacher's page.
Remember that
the Windsong PTO would like for you to visit its website at
www.windsongpto.org
. When you're there, you can also sign up for the NewsFlash.
NewsFlash is a great way to stay informed about school-wide and newsworthy events!
I hope to keep you informed and up-to-date with the happenings in our classroom. If ever, though, you have a question, don't hesitate to email me by clicking on the "Email" button on the menu bar to the left, or call 281-482-0111 and leave a message. I'll be happy to return your call after school.
