SCIENCE:
We are finishing our study of the water cycle and rock cycle. We will be learning about classifying rocks and will even create an "edible rock" and see the changes it makes as it moves through the different stages of the rock cycle. Students will also write a short story about either a drop of water or a rock and take the "character" through an adventure as it goes through the steps of its cycle. We will wrap up the week with a test over the Water cycle and Rock cycle.
TEST FRIDAY: See Review Sheets for a study guide. Everything on the study guide SHOULD be in your child's notes in the science spiral. Students have worked to understand the cycles and be able to draw the rock cycle going either direction with the different types of rocks in different locations. (Important that they understand the cycle, not memorize it as shown in their notes.) Despite the wonderful snowfall's interruption Friday, students were able to complete or almost complete a computer drawing of the rock cycle and the water cycle. Please allow your child to utilize the computer lab before school on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, or after school Wednesday if needed to complete their drawings. They may have some time during extension to work this as well. It will be due Friday.
