Ms. Pratt was a fourth grade teacher in Friendswood ISD from the Fall 1988 through the Spring
2006.
She accepted the position of Reading Specialist beginning the Fall semester 2006.
Prior to entering the teaching profession, she worked for several
years as a secretary. She was a stay-at-home Mom for ten years
between these work experiences.
The joy of teaching for her comes from being in the classroom with the
students.
On a personal note, Ms. Pratt is married to her high school sweetheart.
Her husband is a professor at UH. They have one daughter and a
son-in-law who live in Boston. Her daughter works for Brigham & Women's Hospital. Her son-in-
law is in graduate school at Harvard.
Ms. Pratt and her husband love to travel and they do so as frequently as possible. They enjoyed
traveling to Norway this past summer.
Ms. Pratt's goal is for her students to acquire the necessary reading skills to help them be successful in
school and in life.
