Being an '89 graduate of Friendswood High School, I was thrilled when this
perfect position opened up for me in Friendswood ISD. I remember playing
school as a little girl and telling everyone I was going to be a
teacher "when I grow up". I attended Sam Houston State University beginning
my studies for a radio/television/film degree, but I could not deny my
original goal in life thus changing my major to Elementary Education. I am
beginning my 11th year of teaching overall, and I previously taught in other
area districts, Pearland and Clear Creek, before this opportunity at Windsong
Intermediate opened up four years ago. In the middle of my 11 year teaching
career, I took a break for six years to focus on starting a family with my
husband Mark who is a Friendswood 12 year senior. We have two kids, Hunter
who is ten and attends Windsong, and Hailey who is eight and attends
Westwood. With a passion for reading and writing, I have taught 8th, 6th,
and 4th grades.
I want my kids to feel welcome and comfortable to share in our classroom. I
want them to know that it is not only a learning place, but a growing space.
