Welcome to TAG!

The mission of the School for the Talented and Gifted is to provide an environment in which the unique worth, dignity, and abilities of each individual are not only recognized but cultivated and celebrated as well. We wish to provide an educational experience that empowers highly capable students to interact with their intellectual peers in academic, creative, aesthetic, and social endeavors in order to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow and to become life-long learners, responsible citizens, and contributors to the betterment of society as a whole in an ever-changing world. Our mission is also to take our students and provide them with the skills and cultivate their talents so they can accepted to the colleges/universities of their choice with the money to go there and to be successful at those institutions of higher learning.

A Message From Our Principal:

We have completed our recruiting season and we have selected 67 eighth-grade students to join us next year as freshmen. Our enrollment will grow to 256 for 2013-2014. We were blessed to be chosen as the number one high school in America for the second year in a row by US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT for 2013. It is very gratifying to see that the hard work of our students and faculty is being recognized by such a prestigious publication.

I am retiring this year after 40 years in education. I want to wish the TAG community all of the best in their future and I want to wish all of you reading this a blessed and happy summer break.

TAG Ranked #5 on US NEWS List! Gold Medal Schools TAG is once again ranked among the best high schools in the nations by US NEWS & WORLD REPORT! TAG also achieved the highest "Quality-Adjusted Exam per Test Taker" ranking among all the schools listed. Congratulations to the entire TAG family!

TAG Improves, Slips to #2 Washington Post Challenge Index TAG is once again ranked near the top of the new Washington Post Challenge Index list (previously published in NEWSWEEK). Our neighbor school has seized the top spot. So, the top two schools in the nation (along with two others in the top 100) are on the Townview campus!

TEA Gold Performance TEA Campus Data Search TAG has once again achieved the Gold Performance Acknowledgment from the Texas Education Agency! You can search for the data at the above link and download TAG's report, or you can download a copy from the "Downloads" page.

2010 College Board State AP Scholar Sarah Edris, Class of 2010, has been named the 2010 top female AP scholar in the state. The award is given the top male and female students in each U.S. state with scores of three or higher on the greatest number of AP exams, and the hightest average score on all AP exams taken.

TAG is #5 High School in the Nation US NEWS Rankings TAG is ranked #5 in the new US NEWS & WORLD REPORT ranking of over 21,000 high schools in the country.
