Westwood High School
Spanish III Pre-AP, and Spanish IV
I have been teaching at Westwood for fourteen years. I taught English in
Jordan as a Peace Corps volunteer in 1999-2000, and taught at The Settlement
Home(a residential treatment center) from 1997-1999.
I have a B.A. in Psychology (1996, UT Austin), teaching certification in
Spanish (1999, UT Austin) and an M.Ed. (2005, UT Austin). Additionally, I
try to travel to as many Spanish speaking countries as possible in
order to enhance my knowledge of the communities that we explore in our
classes (and to satiate my undying curiousity!). To date I have visited
Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia,
Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Notice that Spain is
not on the list, but it's not for a lack of desire to go!...the cost of
traveling in Europe keeps me in the Americas, which seems appropriate to me,
since after all, I am American.
Hobbies and Interests? In my free time I spend time with my family and
friends. I also run, hike, read, watch movies, travel, try to solve the geo-
quiz on "The World", wiggle my son's toes, and aim to spend as much time
outside as possible. Truly, this planet is my favorite place to be.
Please feel free to contact me by email or phone regarding any
questions or concerns.
