Please double check your grades on the HAC and make sure they are all correct.  I have some papers with me that I can get back to you before school should you want.  PLEASE STUDY FOR THE MIDTERM.  Check my websites for some interactive activities, or go to the online textbook for some.  At the very least, work some odd problems from the book or examples (something that has an answer you can check) and keep up your Math skills.
Best to you during the week on your other midterms.

Starting the 3rd and final 6-weeks of the semester, we have taken a test over Chapter 4.  This is your reminder from me, other than your signed agreement that you understand, that you have until the date on that sheet to complete a satisfactory review with me over the problems you missed (it may take more than 1 tutorial, so don't wait until the last minute) AND take your test.  No test will be given the same day as your tutorial, so be proactive in getting this done.

ALSO, many of you have started off with numerous zeroes.  REMEMBER that late work or redo's may be done per our grading policy sheet that should be behind your first day sheet.  For some of you, the zeroes are really hurting your grade early.

I would really like for those of you struggling to make it to tutorials and get these possible grades cleared up.
Thanks.

2nd 6-weeks is over.  We start the 3rd 6-weeks Monday.
CHAPTER 4 ASSESSMENT IS TUESDAY!  2 days of review should be enough to get you caught up if you strayed off the path a little, plus the weekend, so let's start the 3rd 6-weeks with a great grade.
Some of you have made some GREAT strides recently and are realizing what you can accomplish when you work and focus on a goal, so let's keep it going.

ONE MORE WEEK in the 2nd 6-weeks.  The past few days have shown improved interest and work ethic on the part of most of the students.  I'm very proud of the way some of you have stepped up a little.  Keep it going.  We still have a ways to go before the year is over, and it would be nice if we could get some of the low grades turned into passing.  Don't forget about the Proof HW and Monday's Quiz on 4.4/4.5.
Have a safe Halloween.

Thursday, 10/22/09 is a LATE START.  There are no tutorials (planned) in the morning.  I will be in the room after school if you need tutorials.
PARENTS: I sent progress reports home yesterday with students to be signed and brought back for a quiz grade.  They may be turned in tomorrow for a 90, and for a 70 on Friday.  After that, it is a zero.  It must be the progress report I sent home.  That is the assignment.  Students should use that or the HAC to get binders organized and assignments sheets filled in.
As always, if you need to contact me for any reason, please contact me at your convenience, and I will get back to you ASAP.
Thank you.

Thursday, 10/8/09, is a LATE START.  There are no tutorials in the morning.  I will be here after school for a while if you have questions or need help with anything.
Parents: Please check the HAC or check your child's Geometry Gradesheet in their Geometry Binder to keep up with grades in class.
Thank you.

End of the 1st 6-weeks is Friday.  Make sure you check the Home Access Center and stay current on your grades, especially if you participate in any UIL activities.  A rule change this year states that the grade in the computer Friday is the grade UIL has to go by, unless you have make-up work due for current absences (check school policy for make-up work allowance).  Also, use your gradesheets in your binders to double-check my input to make sure I typed in the correct thing.  Teacher error can be corrected, but I have always endorsed students correcting me when I have made a mistake.
Let's finish strong so that the transition into the 2nd 6-weeks leads us to a great start.

9/16/09   12:30PM
Thursday morning (September 17th) is another LATE START.  I will be holding an early tutorial from 7:30 - 8:25 if you need help.  This is a good time to come in and grade late homework from within 2 days and/or catch up from recently missed days, b/c I know there are very few (if any) other teachers having tutorials that morning.

9/2/09   4:40 PM
Thursday morning (September 3rd) is a LATE START, meaning that teachers have meetings until about 9:25.  Therefore, there will be no tutorials tomorrow morning.  Please have your review completed and ready to check at the beginning of class.
Thank you.
