For Wednesday, November 18th

1-Use our ten vocabulary words in ten separate sentences (despot, devalue,
impotent, nepotism, omnipotent, possess, potent, potential, potion, valor).
2- Test on Wednesday on the 10 vocabulary words (definition, spelling, and
word type)
3- A reminder that Book Talks are due by Wednesday, December 2nd...this is
coming up very soon, please do strong work with your book talks.




For Friday, November 6th

1- Vocabulary and Spelling Quiz on Friday, November 6th on the following
"log" words we studied for two days in class: analogy, apology, dialogue,
epilogue, eulogy, logbook, logical, logo, monologue, prologue, and blog (web log)


Upcoming/Ongoing Work

1- First book talk due BY December 2nd (no late book talks accepted, period).
Your letter is due BY December 18th (100 points each)

2- Every period you should have read AT LEAST 40 pages in the book of your
choice (40 points each period)

3- During second quarter, you should have read in AT LEAST FOUR different
genres and recorded your books on the wall chart and on your yellow paper (200
points)
