January 4 - 8
We are practicing our Shakespeare scenes in order to be ready for next week's performances. Students will perform for their peers on Wednesday, January 13th (1:30 pm) & Thursday, January 14th (noon). Parents, guardians, friends, relatives, neighbors, brothers, sisters are invited to come to an evening performance January 14th in the EJH auditorium. 4A will perform at 7:00 pm & 3B will perform at 8:00 pm. This is a wonderful chance to see your student perform! Students are required to be present 30 minutes PRIOR to the show's start time in order to receive their 100 assigned points.

December 14 - 18
This is the week that the students will perform their Shakespeare scenes for the class. Each scene should be memorized & well rehearsed. As a class, we will then focus on putting the scenes in an interesting order, & getting ready for the school performances.

Shakespeare scenes this week as we begin our one act play rehearsals. Each student will be in a group working on a specific Shakespearean scene. They will have in class time to work on memorization and presentation. In addition, each group will have a coaching session with the teacher. These scenes will be performed for the class December 15 & 16th. This will help us to be ready for our school performances January 13 & 14th.

November 23 & 24
We will be presenting our powerpoint presentations about our assigned Shakespearean play for our two day week this week because when we return we need to begin our tryouts & start practicing our Shakespearean one-act.

November 16 - 19
This week we are working on understanding the story of various Shakespearean plays. Students have been divided into groups & will each randomly receive a play. They will put together a powerpoint visually depicting the story, find scenes from the play to show to the class, & mark scene ideas in the actual script. Students will present their play to the class next week.

November 9-13
Students have selected a movie monologue & have a day in class to work on memorization. This week we will be working on characterization. Students will begin performing Wednesday, November 11th. Failure to perform on the day it is due will result in a zero - THERE IS NO MAKEUP WORK IN ADVANCED DRAMA.

November 2-6
This week we are finishing up our Music Man assignment & beginning work on our Movie Monologue. Each student must put together a 1 1/2 - 2 min. monologue from a movie. While it can be comedic or dramatic it must be school appropriate. A rubric & examples will be given in class.
