About The Teacher

Miss Boucher grew up here in the area, attending Olympus High School.
After graduation she went to Utah State University to study History and
Theatre. Miss Boucher had the wonderful opportunity to study Spanish in
Valparaiso,Chile during her university studies. Because she was a theatre
major, Miss Boucher acted in many of Utah State's plays. She
received the "Best Ensemble Actress" award, an "Irene Ryan Regional
Nomination", and a regional "Ensemble Acting" award. Her love of theatre
inspired her to pursue education. After doing her student teaching here at
Evergreen, she was excited to become an official eagle.
When Miss Boucher is not teaching she loves to play the piano, practice
the guitar, be outdoors, take her dog Molly for a walk, or watch sports.
Most of all Miss Boucher loves to travel.
She visited has visited Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic,
the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Chile, & Mexico. In the
United States she loves spending time in New York but has visited 14 other
states. August usually gives her the opportunity to waterski & wakeboard in
Lake Powell. She also enjoys spending time in Utah's mountains.
Miss Boucher is currently training for a marathon.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that it is important for students to learn how to appropriately
express themselves. Theater helps students understand how to express
themselves in a creative and non-threatening way. Often, students who have
difficulty communicating with adults or peers learn basic communication
skills through theater because they have taken on a "persona". Their newly
acquired character is struggling to communicate needs, wants, and desires
with another character. The emphasis is placed not on the student but the
character and therefore the environment becomes less threatening. Students
begin to understand the importance of appropriate communication almost
subconsciously.
