ACADEMIC OBJECTIVE:

Each student will successfully complete the year. This will require
each student to pay attention in class, ask questions, obtain help outside
the
class period when needed (before school), and complete assignments.

HOMEWORK:

Usually there are daily assignments given. All assignments should be
completed before class to obtain full credit. Time is given daily in class
to start the assignment, but generally most students require some additional
time to complete it. The assignments are reinforcement and practice of
concepts we will be covering and thus must be done daily in order for the
student to be prepared. Assignments are worth ten points each. One bonus
point will be awarded if a parent checks and signs a homework assignment.
Students are highly encouraged to turn in homework on time. NO LATE
ASSIGNMENTS!

TESTS:

Tests are given after each chapter and quizzes periodically. It is
the responsibility of the student to make up tests if absent.

PARTICIPATION:

Active participation is a necessary component of this mathematics
class. The learning log is one part of participation and will be utilized
on
the daily basis.

GRADING SYSTEM:

The term grade is determined from homework (30%), participation
(10%),
and tests/quizzes (60%).

The grading scale is: Citizenship grades will be awarded:
