Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. What is my grade
  2. What did I miss when I was absent?
  3. Do we need our books today?

What is my grade

I will put the grades in the computer as I correct the assignment. If the
assignment is turned in after I have entered it in the computer It will take
a little longer to get it entered. I try to keep grades updated as
frequently as I have time to do so.

What did I miss when I was absent?

I will have what we do on the board for the week, and previous weeks will be
on a paper by my fire extinguisher. I also put a what we do on my web page.
After school, before school is the best time to ask me for the things that
you will need to complete and assignment that you have missed because of an
absence, field trip, etc. Sometimes it's ok before class if it isn't
something that takes a little while to explain. I will make myself available
to you so that you can get the things you need to make-up. This year I have
had several students not come and see me to make up assignments.

Do we need our books today?

I have told the students from day one, Bring your books everyday even if we
don't use them. Sometimes I have a picture I want them to see or a short
paragraph I want them to read and it will be on the spur of the moment type
thing. Always bring your book. The only book that we are using now is the
original one we received at the beginning of the year. It is the green
book. The orange book was handed in on February 18th, Friday. If you
haven't turned in your book, do so.

What are we doing today?

I will never answer that question to one person. I always tell the students
at the beginning of the period what we will be doing and what is expected of
them. I will also have it written on the board what will be happening.
Sometimes we don't get to some of the items written on the board so I will
extend it to the next time we meet or cancel that item.
