FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
You do not need a library card to check out a book. Just bring the book you want to the check out counter and either Mrs. Bennett or the media aide, Mrs. Lamoreaux, will check out the book to you. How many books can I check out and for how long? You may check out up to three books for ten school days. If you need a book for a longer period, just bring it in and renew it. What if I turn in a book late? You are assessed 5 cents for each school day the book is late. What if you don't have a book I want? If you do not see the book you want here in our school's collection, let Mrs. Bennett know. She may be able to order it or go to a local bookstore to purchase it. It may not help you at the moment you want the book, but it will help Mrs. Bennett to know what books are in demand so she can order them for our school. How early and how late can I come to the Media Center? The Media Center is open at 7:30 AM each day. It is open until approximately 3:00 PM in the afternoon on Monday through Thursday. On Friday, when you get out early, teachers have meetings in the Media Center so it not open to students on Friday after school. Can I come to the Media Center during the day? If you want to come to the Media Center during the day you will need to have your planner hall pass signed by your teacher. Can I use a computer before and after school? If you have a signed Internet Use Agreement on file in the Media Center, you can use a computer before and after school. There is one restriction, however... you are not allowed to "surf the 'net." Our district's policy states that student Internet use is only for TEACHER-DIRECTED EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. How do I look up my grades on the computer? Before you can look up your grades, you must set up a PIN. Setting up this number requires that you know your Social Security number. We do not have this number here at school; you must get it from your parents. If you know this number and your student ID number, you can set up a PIN by going to www.Granite.k12.ut.us, select Students, select Progress Reports, select Create a PIN and enter the information requested, then Submit. Once you have set up a PIN, go back to the Progress Reports page and enter your Student ID and PIN then click on Login. If you lose a book you will need to pay for it. You will be given a receipt showing that you paid for the book. If you find the book later, just bring in the receipt and the book and your money will be refunded. Just check in the book and it will be checked out to you again for an additional ten days. |
