l. Citizenship 
 A. Students must be in their seats when the bell rings. Roll will be called  
orally. 
   1. Students will have a pencil, and grading pen (green). Students 
      will have their own paper.
   2. Students will need to stop conversations and be facing the front of   
      the room when the roll is being called. 
   3. Pencils will be sharpened before class or during study time. 
   4. Students need to provide their own paper.
   
 
 B. Raise hand to ask questions. Please use proper etiquette and decorum. 
   1. Raise your hand. 
   2. Wait to be called on. 
   3. Make only appropriate comments.
   4. Wait for complete answer. 
   5. If need be, ask for clarification. 

 C. Use study time wisely. 
   1. Make sure you have recorded assignment in students day planner.
   2. Make sure due date is known. 
   3. Read directions and make sure you understand what the directions are 
      asking you to do.  
   4. Settle down and complete required work. Some assignments are due the 
      same day.
   5. Bring something to read or study, when you finish your assignment. 
   
 D. Keep the classroom clean. 
   1. Make sure all writing is on acceptable paper. 
   2. Keep boards with only appropriate messages for class discussion or 
      presentation. 
   3. School calendar should only have school business on it. 
   
   4. Keep paper and garbage off the floor.
   5. DO NOT write on or mar desks.
 E. School rule: No gum, candy or dirnks in places other than the     
    cafeteria. Only clear water is allowed in the class room.

 F. Attend class whenever possible.  
   1. Be on time, one tardy is allowed, additional tardies may require 
      student to attend an appropriate amount of after school detention time.
   2. Do not sluff. 
      a. After School Detention, and an appropriate amount of citizenship
         points will be removed from  student's grade for sluffing. 
      b. If work is not made up as asked for, student will lose that portion 
         of their grade. 

 G. Keep inappropriate behavior out of class (before, during or after 
   school) 
    1. Passing or writing notes is not appropriate. 
    2. Inappropriate behavior is not acceptable. 
    3. Throwing objects is not appropriate. 
    4. Keep from touching other peoples property. 
    5. Keep from distracting other students or teacher.

 H. Students will be dismissed by the instructor. 
    1. Students must be in their correct seat.
    2. Floor must be clean around each student's desk. 
    3. Put trash in garbage can and return to proper seat.
    4. Rows must be straight. 
    5. Class room must be quiet to hear any last minute comments.
    6. Books must be in their appropriate places.
    7. Teacher will excuse class when all the above conditions are completed 
       promptly and properly. 
    

DAILY CONSEQUENCES: I do not plan to write student's names on the board. 
    1. Eye contact and/or name called. (lst consequence) 
    2. Name repeated with grade reduction. (2nd consequence) 
    3. Student may be asked to correct behavior with an after school    
       referral(3rd consequence). 
    4. Student asked to leave class room-note sent home. (4th consequence) 
    5. Continued or repeated days of infractions -detention referral given. 
    6. All of the above situations will effect the students participation   
       points and grades

SEVERE INFRACTION 
       Student will be removed from class at the time of the problem. A      
       parent/teacher conference parent/counselor conference, or a       
       conference with the assistant principal permission will be required  
       for readmittance to class. 
          
II. GRADING 

 A. Assignments: 30% of grade
    1. Assignments scored and recorded daily.
      a. Student will score paper and I will record scores directly on 
         computer. 
      b. Students should keep all assignments in a paper 3-ring binder       
         to verify all work and to varify if a score is misentered. Do not  
         discard assignments until grades are posted properly.
      c. STUDENTS NEED TO SHOW WORK -- NOT JUST ANSWERS.  NO WORK, NO CREDIT.
    2. Students should use the following headings:

    3. The purpose of assignment.
      a. Reinforce the curriculum taught that day. 
      b. Let students know if they understand concepts 
      c. A focus for students to ask questions for clarification of 
         curriculum. 
      d. Completeness is important. 
      e. Students are responsible for curriculum not learned. Students        
need     to set up a time to get help 
             
    4. Assignments must be completed promptly.
      a. If absent, student has one day grace for each day absent. 
      b. Inaccurate reporting will result in azero for that day's work.
    5. Students will be required to have a grading pen. 

 B. Tests and Quizzes: 50% of grade
    1. Quizzes may be given any time, after any lesson.    
    2. The possible score for each quiz may vary.
    3. Tests will be given periodically, usually at the end of each chapter.
    4. A Final Test(CRT) will be given in May. It will cover all the state   
       mandated curriculum.  This is an important multiple choice test and  
       it will be weighted accordingly on grades. 
    5. No one is accused of cheating. Students that do not follow class 
       rule for the testing situation will not get any credit for taking 
       the test or quiz.  A make-up may be made available for students that do
       any of the following:
      a. receiving or giving answers 
      b. passing notes 
      c. talking while test is still in progress(all students must have a 
         quiet testing atmosphere)
      d. looking around the room at others work 
      e. looking at book or notes 
 
 C. Proper class participation: 5% of grade
    1.  Deduction of points will accure each time students poor study habits 
       are pointed out. 
    2. Deduction of points will occure for not having supplies ready for use 
       during class period.  
    3. Studenrs will be responsible to bring their book to class (no          
classroom sets will be available)
 D. Students who have good citizenship, do their work in class,           
     report their own work accurately, and on time will receive             
     extra consideration when figuring grades.

 E. EXTRA CREDIT: Will be available when appropriate. 

  

 F. Grading -students total points divided by number of points possible for 
    each student.

 G. Any class rules relating to students behavior or grades may be changed  
   without notice if school or district policy is not in agreement with the
