Question: A car owner wants to buy a new hybrid car. The difference in the
price of the new car and the old car is $21,000. The new car, when driven
comparably to the old car gets 9 miles/gallon more in distance. The price of
gas is $3.12 a gallon. How far willthe new car need to be driven to pay the
difference in price?
Geometry
Given: Points L(1,3) and M(-2,7), find the following information.
A. LM
B. Equation of Line LM
C. Line perpendicular to line LM at point C(2,5)
D. What is the distance from point C to line LM?
E. Lines y=2x+3 and y=2x-5 are parallel, find the distance between the two
lines at (-1,1). Does (-1,1) lie on either line?
F. Which lines are parallel, and which lines are perpendicular:
1. (1,5),(5,7)
2. (-1,8),(3,0)
3. ( 5,-5),(-1,7)
4. (-3,5), (-1,1)
