Disclosure Drama 2

                   THEATRE 2 DISCLOSURE STATEMENT

" All the world' s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.
They have their entrances, and their exits
And each man, in his time, plays many parts." -William Shakespeare

OBJECTIVE: To help the Theatre 2 students become more aware and develop a
deeper understanding of the principles of acting learned in Theatre 1: Focus,
Ensemble skills, Creativity, Self Awareness, Empathy, Building ofCharacter,
and finally Acting. The primary focus of this class will be to prepare
students how to prepare, and get the most out of the monologue, one of
the most important tools for an actor. Through a series of theatre games,
improvisation, personal research, and performance, the Theatre 2 student will
be able to apply and demonstrate their understanding of these skills.

MATERIALS: Students should come to class every day prepared with the
following:
1. A notebook
2. Pencil or pen
3. Any handouts given
4. Any script they have been assigned

EXPECTATIONS:
1. Students should be on time, in their seats, and quiet when the bell rings.
2. Respect for themselves, fellow students, instructor and any visitor in our
classroom including substitutes. Failure to do so could cause a reduction in
citizenship.
3. If absent, come and find out what was missed in class. This is a
participation class and so many points come from the work done in class.
Students should be prepared to work with instructor how to make up missed
points.
4. Respect for the environment we are working in whether it be the classroom
or the stage.
5. No gum, food, candy should be brought into the classroom unless
specifically asked to do so.

GRADING: The grading for this course falls under the category of assignments
and all is weighted equally. Students will primarily be graded on performance
and their ability to discuss and demonstrate knowledge of skills.

Parents due to the nature of this course, students will be evaluating one
another on group participation. They will also be participating in oral
evaluations after performances to help gain an understanding of their
strengths and areas where they could improve. This is a valuable
exercise for theatre students as it enables them to be able to articulate the
skills they are learning.

Parents please go over the disclosure statement with your child, sign, and
return to class. Thank you! Ms. Dodge

I have read the disclosure statement for Theatre 2 and understand the
