CITIZENSHIP, TARDY POLICY, RULES

Citizenship is based on Wasatch Jr. High’s guidelines for citizenship grades

and includes both behavior in the classroom and amount of tardies students

acquire throughout the quarter. Wasatch Jr. High’s guidelines for tardies

and school rules will also apply (see school planner for details).

ASSIGNMENTS, ASSESSMENTS, AND PROJECTS

-Assignments turned in after the due date will be accepted for one week.

Points will be deducted from assignments turned in late. Assignments missed

because of an absence need to be made up ASAP and no later than one week

after the due date. Students are responsible for finding and completing work

when they are absent. These (including term projects, current events, and

literature) are worth 70% of student’s grade.

-Quizzes will be given periodically. Notice will be given before the quiz is

given. Tests will be in map and essay form. These are worth 30% of

student’s grade.

-Term Projects: Each student will be expected to complete a term project. A

sheet describing the requirements and due dates will be passed out the second

day of class. Due dates for term projects are generally one week before

midterms. Students will also work on mini-projects relating to certain units

in the curriculum throughout the year.

-Current Events: We will be having weekly discussions and activities using

current events.

-Literature: Students will be required to read a novel, book of poetry, etc.

each quarter relating to topics discussed in class.
