About The Teacher
I'm one of the lucky few who knew exactly what I wanted to do when I "grew up" and have been happily teaching for 20+ years. Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees are in education. While teaching for Los Angeles Unified School District, I became interested in working with English language learners, and earned my ESL endorsement. I have taught all grade levels pre- k through adult and worked in several auxiliary capacities (gifted/talented coordinator, ESL lead teacher, health coordinator, and special ed integration teacher). In addition to my classes at Wasatch Jr. High, I also teach in the School of Education at Westminster and Weber State. When I'm not teaching, my time is spent enjoying time with my son, traveling, reading, and watching or participating in sports.

My goal is to create an environment where students feel valued, respected, and safe taking risks so they can reach their highest potential. I strive to reach every student wherever they are on the learning continuum and share my love of language,literature, and life in general! My life is so enriched by spending my days with jr. high students. I continue to learn, grow, and have fun being in their company!
