*This week in Art*
KG- KG artists are making puppets of their favorite fairy tale
characters, in order to parallel the fairy tale theme they are going over in
class. Each student was allowed to pick their favorite characters from an
existing tale or create their own characters. We hope to have a chance for
the children to present a short puppet show using their art work :)
First Grade- First grade artists are completing their Laurel Burch
inspired butterflies. Their artwork will be put up on the walls outside of
their classroom, shortly. If you walk the halls of the school you will notice
a Laurel Burch Art theme.
Second & Third Grade- Second & Third grade artists are learning some
Chinese characters and how they can be used to make beautiful designs on
miniature scrolls.
Fourth & Fifth Grade- Fourth and Fifth grade artists are starting an
embroidery project, reminiscent of Rabari Emroidery from India. This lesson
ties into both the Social Studies and English subjects as well.
Sixth-Eighth Grade- Our upper grade artists are a project using the
technique of pointillism. They have worked long and hard on this one!
