Classroom Procedures

{Please see student handbook for more information on all procedures}

School Hours:
Students should arrive promptly at 9:00 a.m.- No later! Pickup is at
3:30p.m.
(See student handbook about fees for late pickup.)

Snack/Lunch:
Students should bring a snack and lunch everyday. Bring foods that are easy
to eat such as sandwiches, fruit, chips, etc. DO NOT BRING any thing that
needs refrigerated or microwaved. Soda & candy are restricted.

Uniforms:
Please make every effort to ensure your child adheres to the uniform policy
every day.

Homework:
Homework is given to help develop responsibility, time management skills, to
review previously learned concepts, and to show the students' parent/guardian
what we learned in school.

S.T.A.R.:
S.T.A.R. Binders are a very important part of our school day. S.T.A.R. stands
for Students That Are Responsible. Students will take binders home each day
and should return them every morning.

Reading:
Students will take home a book to read EVERY NIGHT {with exceptions}.
Students that can read independently should do so.

Toys:
Please do not allow your child to bring any toys to school. We will conduct
show-and-tell days, but students should bring something to share that the
class can learn from, not toys.

Contact Info:
If at any time during the year your contact information changes, please
inform me immediately.

Supplies:
All supplies are due by September 10, 2008 !

Homework Policy:
Homework will be given every night {with exceptions}. It is the
responsibility of the student and parent/guardian to check to see if they
have homework. You may check online and/or in your child’s S.T.A.R. binder.

It is important that someone is available to assist your child in reading
assignments and reviewing procedures. It is the responsibility of the
student and parent/guardian to send homework back to school with the
student.

Homework is a review or practice of concepts/skills we have worked on in
class. The total amount of time spent on homework should be between 10-20
minutes per subject. Some children love homework and others need to grow in
it. Please let me know if there are any problems!
