Al Fatih's Second Grade In second grade we use positive reinforcement to guide student behavior. We strive to model appropriate, Islamic interactions. We are more than a classroom, we are a peaceful learning community! |

Welcome To Second Grade! |
Front of the Classroom This is where much of the learning happens, but not all of it! Students work in cooperative learning groups on projects and experiments at their table groups or in other locations in the room. |

Student Information Station The Information Station is where classroom news is displayed. I distribute "stay at home" work in the student mailboxes. Students store their lunchboxes on the shelf. |

Student Cubbies Students store their personal items, such as coats and backpacks in these cubbies. It is important that the backpacks are soft and foldable so that they fit in the cubbies. |
Our Classroom Library Our library is full of fantastic books, from picture books, to chapter books. New books are added with each unit of study so that students can immerse themselves in their learning. |

The Computer Center Students enjoy centers-based learning 3 times a week. The activities at the centers are changed every 3 weeks to compliment our current units of learning. This center features 2 new, 19-inch touch-screen computers. |
The Language Center This is where I meet with reading groups 4 times a week. The word wall is displayed above the Language Center. |

Teachers Desk & Social Studies/Science Center Social Studies and Science content is reenforced at this center, where students can explore a huge variety of hands-on materials and activities. |

The Art Center This is where beautiful works of art are created by the second graders. The art projects are integrated with our learning units. |
